Ofcom is the organization that is responsible for regulating the communications industry in the United Kingdom. This includes TV, radio, telecoms providers and the postal service. The powers that is has are set by Parliament and its principle role is to ensure that customers are treated fairly by the companies that provide the services they are responsible for. Ofcom does not get involved in disputes between individuals and companies, but they will monitor the practices of these companies. This will include things ensuring there is enough competition between companies in a certain sector so that customers continue to be able to get the best deal.
